Counsel
Ruhi is a counsel in Dentons’ London office. She is a member of the DCM, Structured Finance and Derivatives practice group.
Ruhi specializes in synthetic securitisations/significant risk transfer (SRT) transactions, repacking programs and transactions (particularly, social-and-governance-focused credit-wrapped transactions) and credit derivatives. She worked previously at Linklaters LLP, where she acted for financial institutions and investors across different jurisdictions in their respective risk-sharing transactions in different formats with different underlying classes. She is recognized in the SRT market for launching and co-hosting an SRT-focused podcast “Tranche Up” and regularly speaking at industry conferences.
In addition, she has broad experience in relation to a wide range of sophisticated financial products and transactions – she has advised an international bank in setting up and running its balance sheet program for issuance of complex credit derivatives to retail and wholesale investors, banks and corporates on OTC derivatives, a supranational organization on its mandate compliance requirements and negotiation of its financial instruments, and banks on sanctions and ringfencing-related issues.
Having started her career as an Indian-qualified lawyer in 2012, where she had widespread exposure to Asian capital markets (with a particular focus on equity offerings in India and business trust listings in Singapore), she brings an international perspective to her practice.
