Silvia L. Ramirez is a Senior Financial Sector Expert in the Monetary Fund’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department. She is a financial sector expert with several years of experience in the federal government and international organizations. Her areas of expertise include banking risk assessment (financial and non-financial risks) and review of resolution plan components for large complex financial institutions in the United States. Prior to rejoining the IMF in 2022, she worked for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Inter-American Development Bank, and World Bank Group. She has a MS in Finance from John Hopkins University and a MA in Development Banking from American University.
