Jason Plourde is a partner in Grant Thorntonís National Professional Standards Group. Most recently, Plourde spent two years as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant (OCA) at the SEC in Washington, DC, where he was involved in the study and development of rule proposals under the federal securities laws, provided feedback to accounting, auditing and other professional standard-setting bodies, and consulted with SEC registrants on financial reporting matters. At the SEC staff, he was also involved in analyzing registrant and auditor compliance with professional standards related to fair value measurement and disclosure and in providing information to SEC Commissioners, Congressional offices and others in their analyses of changes to financial reporting requirements. Prior to his work on the SEC staff, he worked in Grant Thorntonís Accounting Principles Consulting Group, where he wrote and spoke about firm policies and positions on emerging accounting standards and assisted audit teams with inquiries on a variety of technical accounting topics. He is a member of the AICPA and a CPA in Illinois. Plourde received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
